Several thousand people flocked to the Dormie Club in Eastwood Thursday night for the Veteran Golf Association Military Appreciation Music Festival. The main attraction was country music star Colt Ford, whose performance capped an evening of music, fun and movie-making on the Dormie Club golf course. The with the main stage was on one tee and the secondary stage on the green, which featured performances by Jill Charles and guitarist Jason Buechner, Rod West and Laura Reed. The VGA, based in Pinehurst, was filming scenes of a movie called “Sand Trap.” All of the golfers in the movie are veterans and members of the VGA. Local resident who packed the grand stands are “extras” in the movie.
